Switzerland has a distinctive legal framework that permits assisted suicide under certain circumstances, including for some people who are not Swiss residents.<\/p>

Historically, certain medications have appeared in discussions about self-directed death. Changes in prescribing practices, drug availability, medical standards, and the law have substantially changed that landscape.<\/p>
