data-end=\"894\">Dementia is not a single disease.<\/strong> It is a general term for changes in memory, thinking, communication, and other cognitive abilities that become significant enough to interfere with daily life.<\/p><p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"1056\" data-end=\"1339\">Dementia can result from a number of diseases and conditions. <strong data-start=\"1118\" data-end=\"1213\">Alzheimer&#8217;s disease is the most common cause, accounting for approximately 60\u201370% of cases.<\/strong> Other forms include vascular dementia, Lewy body dementia, and frontotemporal dementia.<\/p><p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"1341\" data-end=\"1545\">Dementia may also occur in association with other neurological or medical conditions, including Parkinson&#8217;s disease, Huntington&#8217;s disease, HIV, multiple sclerosis, and harmful alcohol use. More than one type of dementia may occur at the same time, sometimes referred to as\u00a0<strong>mixed dementia.<\/strong><\/p><p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"1547\" data-end=\"1718\">There is currently
